...didn't mention initially was the SUV that had driven OVER the rock 60 seconds previous, turned around, and was sitting in the road on the opposite side, stopped. I was more worried about what THEY were about to do (turn left in front of me, for instance - remember, this was Midnight on a Saturday night) than anything else, since I saw them from 300 feet away. It was one of those "hey, why is that truck stopped ther....OH SH*****T, crunch bang, bang...etc. etc. moments.

Now, one could make a case that they might have flashed their lights or honked their horn or something as we drove up, but they didn't. When I initially got out of the car, they said they'd been about to move the rock.
