I took my '98 A4QT from Temecula,CA to Desert Springs, CA (all mountain, windy roads) on a 1.5 hour trek to meet my family for dinner after work. I came up to a Z3 in front of me so I decided to see if my A4 can follow the smaller, more agile Z3 on this trip. I was able to keep up with him and I can tell that he was trying to lose me to make a point. Needless to say, this made my trip a whole lot more fun.

When it started to rain, he had to slow down quite a bit, but I was able to continue on my torrid pace thanks to the wonderful quattro system. I caught his look of disbelief as I made my move past him. More the rest of the trip, he followed me. When we got to Desert Springs, he pulled up next to me at a stoplight and smiled at me and gave me a thumbs up.

Also, MikeW Didn't say what he has in his car. Before I modified my A4, my '99 Z3 2.3 was much faster. Now my TAP stage 2 A4 will blow the doors off my Z3 (if I could figure out how to drive them both at the same time). The 1.9L Z3 is pretty much a dog.
