I have to go to court Dec. 28 for, of all the stupid things that I could be doing at 12:08am, riding my bike home down the lake front path. Yes the same lakefront path that I ride everyday. The same lake path that the Chicago LATE ride uses at all hours of the morning. For the simple offence of being on my bicycle I was thrown on the hood of a cop car and searched. I was also given threats of being shot and thrown in jail.

Fight the power folks, fight the power.

On a side note, when my condo was broken into no one gave a rats @ss. But, when I am tring to ride my bike home we get two cops. Hooray City.

perhaps you should think about driving?

this brings back fond memories of being arrested, for disorderly conduct,( complete bs) and then robed by cpd for 150 bucks. I have photo evidence of this but didn't think it was it my best interest to pursue.

consider yourself lucky

all you can do is laugh because other wise they will just beat your ass.

just for riding your bike on the path. Were you doing anything else? Or maybe not using proper safety devices like lights, etc?

I ride my bike there often and do some training rides very late, often after midnight and occasionally I would get hassled by cops but the most they ever do is say "park is closed, you're not supposed to be here at this hour" and simply give me a warning. And my reply is always "sorry, let me just make it home then" after which I point to to the vicinity of the aon center indicating that my condo is right near it. This usually happens around fullerton on the path and more often around soldier field/museum campus. I've been approached numerous times but never thrown on top of a cop car and searched or anything even close to that. Sorry, but you must have been doing something sketchy that set them off. Did you give them **** for telling you to get off the path? Maybe that's it.

Fire Dept, etc. Just like any other entity, in business and in the private and political sector. So chill and take it easy.
I saw how the CPD dealt with the New Breed gunners not far
from my house. What a blood bath on the street. Thumbs up to those guys.
