Our IT guy has us set up with assigned IP addy's at work. I would like to use my laptop more at home but my router at home is set up to obtain my own IP. I would like to be able to use it at both places without having to go through the hassle of re-entering my IP addy every morning when I get to work. How can I get around this? TIA.

If you have an IBM Laptop it'll work perfectly...However, I have not tested this application on any other brand, but it should work b/c it's just a software.

This will switch automatically between connections, all you have to do is create the Profiles, which it's a very easy wizard.

Hope it works.

Select your network adapter, TCP/IP Properties and click the Alternate Configuration tab. Enter a static IP/DNS there to be used whenever DHCP is not available. And then get a Thinkpad.
