Looking for a place to do engine/exhaust upgrade type stuff, anyone have any recommendations for the San Diego area?

If there aren't that many good shops down here in San Diego then where would anyone suggest that I go in the Los Angeles area, I'm sure I wouldn't mind taking a nice cruise up there sometime. Where do you guys get your Garret's and your Wett's installed? I want to get one. And another thing...how many miles should I put on the engine before I throw the chip in there?
