I finally have an answer!

Anyway, just a cross post to the S4 forum if anyone wants to see a completely f-ed up exhaust manifold.

Could explain my weird rattle - - and crazy misfires and no boost on the way home.

Oh, I got to put new KO4s in before realizing this was the problem - that was a great expenditure of funds.

and never looked at the EM?? Weird design on that EM too(I see it 1st time).

I bought the turbos, brought it to Renn-Art and told them to replace the turbos.

Now, the noise coming from the exhaust manifold was pretty bad and by the looks of the turbo I'm not sure how it was making that sound.

Hind sight is 20/20 of course. In retrospect, I think the noise should have been investigated more once a fairly normal looking KO4 came out.

But again, NO ONE has seen a stock S4 exhaust manifold fail. SO who would have thought that?

I had someone help me block airflow to the driver's turbo (making the passenger side make all the boost) - the passenger side could make boost. It seemed like a bad turbo.

but on a positive side, you should be set for another 60K or so miles:-) Make that big 200! 140k miles is a lot....my 16yr old has just passed that mark:-)
