The ground water was way up on the east side of my house and it found its way in through a leak in a window frame. Thankfully, there is nothing in my basement and the floor is tile. Now I have to figure out how much its going to cost to backfill and grade the eroded area around the house.

I now know where the leak is and all of the contributing factors.

this is our new family room. any idea how much it would cost to put up (mount) and wire up a nice 58" plasma TV over the fireplace? dunno if you can venture a guess (or anyone for that matter) but looks like you have some experience with home theaters!!!

I was driving down LaGrange near 95th. All forest preserves in the area. There were branches and all sorts of debris, not rolling, but FLYING past my car in the opposite direction. I was driving into the wind so it was kind of freaky seeing that stuff flying past me. I seriously thought there was a tornado nearby, but couldn't see above the overhanging tree lines on LaGrange. Sky was pitch black and every time lightning lit it up, I was trying to decipher shapes in the clouds above, looking for anything that resembled a funnel.

Then I get home and discovered a couple spots in my basement where water seeps into the foundation. I still had a lot of boxes of stuff down there that I hadn't unpacked yet. Kim and I had to scramble to try and get everything off the floor and out of harms way. Luckily nothing got damaged.

Tonight I'm going to buy a watchdog battery backup sump system, just in case we lose power next time.

Luckily though, no hail. My first Audi got wacked several years ago from hail and I had to have the entire car repainted.

(the screen was $35 on woot.com, couldn't pass it up). Anyone know a good deal on a larger screen?

control all of the amnient light in my theater, so I did not need to get a strong projector or a high gain screen.

If I upgrade the screen (bigger), I will make my next one. Decent screen fabric is fairly cheap in rolls and framing a screen is easy.

My system is 2 years old, so I haven't been looking for quite a while.

which is where I projected before. I too have control over the light in the room, so it isn't too bad...

I actually just blew my bulb the other day... pulled it and the screen for the fan was nasty from random home construction, so partially my own fault I guess...
