too bad i had to drive to the armpit of america (indiana) to pick them up.

i was doing a test fit over the stoptechs and they looked nice and already had tires mounted to them, so i figured i'd just run them until the toyo ra1's get here and then relegate them to track duty. although i kind of want a set for the street now.

i wish tirerack would sack up and start carrying toyo tires so i don't have to order them from edgeracing.com every time. i'm really hoping my ra1's get here before road america...

They're light and look great.
I also drove to tirerack to have mine installed. 7am with no traffic made it smooth.

Yours match your car perfect. Looks Hawt!

The RA-1 has got to be one of the best R compound tire that I have used.

I liked the Cups (had 2-3 sets of those), but they wear too fast for my taste. The Dunlop SSR was good while it lasted. The old Victoracers, meh.

Honestly I've only tried those three, but the RA-1 is very, very good. Tirerack is a great place to do business with and they support the club quite a bit. I suppose they cannot carry every brand of tire, but I would love to buy them from Luke.

I must honestly say, I have never witnessed any tire dealer take the care that Tire rack does when mounting tires. They do a high pressure leakdown test that might just save you the trouble of a slow leak. Great service, great prices. There is a lot there to like. I'd like to try some of the other r-comps, but man, once you hit on a winner, it's hard to switch unless you know it will be equal or better. I do like to get every edge I can while on the track - even though we aren't timing, of course.

benz on the other hand is almost fully overhauled.

new brakes, new suspension, new exhaust, ac/heater system redone, bunch of other stuff.

Thought you were going to drop an M3 motor in that sucker?

managed to already cover Luke's education fund! Now that I'm not driving either car to the track anymore, I may switch to Hoosiers to see just how good they are. I like my Sport Cups though. Always predictable and I've gotten pretty good wear out of them too.

In addition to tires though, they've always had every part I've needed and with the clout they carry in the industry, it's usually no more than one phone call away from Luke. I'm a pretty loyal person and I've been going to them since the mid 80's and the days of the free BMW loaners. Remember those? A basket of keys at the reception/cashier desk. Grab a key and see which one it fits! What a blast.

... that companies using dangerous activities like drifting on city streets in their ad campaigns don't take any hits, but people with a couple short skirts in their ad campaigns get a bunch of heat.
