more serious about moving from Minneapolis to Chicago and she is looking at applying for some teaching jobs and we are intersted in knowing what the neighborhoods are like. I really appreciate any info you can provide. Thanks

These are the addresses and the locations are plotted on the maps below.

I gotta agree with him on this one. Those two "S" addresses aren't exactly a walk in the park.<ul><li><a href="http://www.chicagocrime.org/streets/south_shore_dr/7500s/">'Nuff said?</a></li></ul>

I suggest a visit to these sites in person. After all, "safe" is subjective.

We would be renting probably looking at $1200-$1500 per month, currently have two cars but I would love to be able to sell one of them and ride the train to work.

I am currently working as a commercial credit analyst for a community style bank and would like to stay in the same line of work whether for a small bank again or a larger bank (I've worked for US Bank in the past).

We both love Chicago but don't know the city all that well. I am pretty confident that with some effort and a little time that I could find a job. However with her going into teaching that seems to be more difficult. So we are kind of sitting back seeing what she gets offered before I step up my efforts.

Moving there isnt a sure thing but if we do I want it to be a move that we both feel confident in and not something where we are going to be living or working in a neighborhood where we feel like we are putting ourselves in danger every day.

There seem to be some decent websites out there to do research on crime and other things in neighborhoods but audiworld seems to be a great resource where you get honest opinions from real people.

Thanks for your help
