Living at 9,500 ft above sea level is great for skiing but bad for engine power. I have been told by an audi dealer that the normally aspirated 2.8 will loose 3% of horsepower for every 1,000ft of elevation gain. Conversely he indicates that the 1.8T is unaffected by elevation gain. Anyone have any info on this and or which power plant will provide more get up and go at altitude??

The 1.8T definitely. It's the turbo here, not the displacement. Enjoy! - Pagg
