Someone left a small scratch in my door today. Thankfully they left a note so they're going to be paying for the repairs.

Anyway, I called my dealer (Laurel of Westmont) to suggest a body shop. They gave me Ray's name from Neat Street.

Anyone have anything to say about them or an alternative suggestion?

Is there a specific experience you're referring to, or their work in general?

windycityS4 and i, both had our OEM RS4 fronts put on by them. i didnt have a single complaint against them, neither did windy (i believe).

im quite happy with my experience there, however JasonS4 did not as he wanted to have his RS4 front put on there, but they treated him like ****. so he went else where...

factory Audi certified paint shop. I was there a couple weeks ago, they are the place to go if you want a factory job. There guys are trained in Germany and utilize the same process you would get at the factory.

service.

Have treated me better than 99% of business I deal with.

I remember when you had the problems, Mark, and I agree it was a crappy situation.

But I know of over 20 people who've had paint and service there and you are the only one with a negative experience.

Most people love JR.

I know you and I know JR. You are both good people and something just went wrong with your transaction. I would never say what happened to you was anywhere near normal.

Take care,

Mike S

JR's a fookin moron. While he may treat customers with a long history with the shop well, unfortunately others don't get the same service and quality of workmanship. Mike referred me to interpro almost 5 years ago when I crunched my B5 S4 and needed a new fender and bumper and front right suspension. While the mechanical repair was adequate, the paint job was horrendous. For one, it did not match properly and I had to have them re-do it.... and when I got it back the second time, it was clear they did a shoddy rush job of it because upon inspection, the application of clearcoat was sloppy with visible flash and actual teardrop and drip marks from cured clearcoat that wasn't even polished of sanded down. Incredibly poor job. I had to take it back in a third time and all they did was polish it off and upon close inspection, I noticed areas of blotchy paint of varying grey densities. At this point, I've already made 3 extra trips and had no desire to make a 4th since it was clear to me that JR had no intention of satisfying me as a customer. He was looking at me like I was crazy and he was actually ignoring the fact that they did a piss-poor job to begin with when I first picked it up... as if it's my fault and shouldn't complain about improper paint match and clearcoat with drip marks. As if I don't have a right to expect good work. What a total ass.

That was 5 years ago. My S4 is long gone... and I'm still pissed about that experience. That place sucks. The only reason they're still in business is they apparently treat the regulars and people they know well who in turn refer more customers who ironically don't get the same service and quality workmanship. Weak.

they treat you well because you've been doing business with them often and continually refer people. It's pretty lame that not everyone gets the same level of service and workmanship.

JR Jon Jack Romero or whatever his name is.... is a tool.

I searched interpro and found your praising them online.

I could not find one negative post by you about them.

Only negative posts (their are tons of positives) were Mark, you and Smurfette saying they were pricey (used the word rip off) in that they wanted $1000 to repaint both bumpers (which is standard for top level paint and work, Book time is 9.5 hours and your looking at at least 400+ in paint and clear if you are using Glasurit, Sikkens, etc).

I don't get it. When you had problems in the past, why not post about then and especially why not contact me?

Seriously sorry you had issues.

We just picked up a car from Interpro last night with perfect work.

Your positive thread (and only thread I could find) about Interpro

Linky!

they got payment from the insurance company and I picked up my car. I picked my car up afterhours when JR wasn't there since I work late and didn't get to inspect until the next day. And that next day is when I discovered the crappy work. Thereafter, all customer service went sour and JR did a complete 180 as if I'm the crazy one for noticing the subpar paint job. JR's shop didn't seem willing to satisfy me even after several additonal visits so I left well enough alone since from 10 feet away, you can't really tell (which should never be acceptable in the first place). I went there after researching for the BEST PLACE and expected quality. Quality I came no where close to getting.

And why would I go to you and complain about interpro at the time? 1) I don't know you. 2) You don't own the shop. 3) I never held you responsible for referring (ultimately it was my decsion to go with them, thus my fault) 4) I didn't want you to feel bad that you referred me to a crappy place.

I didn't post about it on AW because I'm not a whiner. I'm just posting about it now because I'm issuing a PSA in response to the original post to stay away from them since I don't want others to experience what I have.

Not arguing with you dude.... I appreciate that your referral was genuine from your positive experiences. I just want to give the heads up that no shop is perfect and not everybody gets treated the same. Just because you get good work done from them, doesn't mean everybody else does. Wake up.

I am truly sorry you had problems and wish you had contacted me.

I just have had too many friends with high end cars (Astons, Ferraris, Porsches, etc) come out happy over the 6-7 years I've used them to know that what you experienced is the norm.

I seriously feel for you, but don't believe you situation is even in the 1%. Even Lexus has bad days.

Take care,

Mike S

fixed hail damage and did the whole car. The job was flawless, they put the car back together properly, (ie- no loose body parts, trim clips, etc. ) I was really happy with the job they did.
