The Service light (the same one as for the 5000 mile checkups) has started to blink along with the letters "INSP" in the Trip Odometer area. Does anyone know what this is for? I don't remember the "INSP" blinking for the checkups, plus I had my 10K checkup less than 3000 miles ago.<p>Also, I don't have the trip computer and it's a '98 1.8TQM.<p>Thanks,<br>Craig<br>

I think someone mentioned that those signs are time regulated... so, they would kick in, say... every 6 months. Like, for my 1.8T (service every 5000 miles), I have 6500 miles (4 months), and the INSP hasn't kicked in yet... <br>Like they said, it's no big deal... it's almost like the 2 hrs drive time warning thing.<br>If you have a 98 or later... you can reset that yourself.<br>Good luck.<p>Cris<br>

What's the "2 hrs drive time warning thing"? I've never heard of it.

The hours indicator on the trip computer starts blinking once the car has been running for 2 hours consecutively, to remind the driver to stop, stretch and not fall asleep. Audi wants its customers around to buy another Audi!
