You do realize that oil is black about 5 minutes after it goes into your car right? You do realize that the only reason oil is clear when you poor it in is because the marketing machine has made everyone think that it would be bad if it wasn't right?

That said, sucks about the oil change, if the level wasn't low, it might have been a clump or something that just happened to restrict flow for a bit. As long as it doesn't come back on, you'll be fine. =)

This is purely a hypothetical, not a suggestion...

Get the oil changed ASAP. Then change again after ~500 miles to serve as a sort of oil flush.

Would this help to get any slug out?

I do realize that the oil turns a blackish color almost immedietly but the smell and visual appearance of the oil was not normal.(it had been in there for 14K) The pressure light came back on this morning so i think its going to be towed to the dealer ASAP.

I am very hesitant to drive a car with below normal oil pressure...i dont want to risk damaging any of the vital internals... I definetly need the oil change though and a bigger filter due to my dealers neglegance in not performing sched. maintnace properly...

The oil pickup is the first to get clogged up. So, running some engine cleaner through is not going to unclog it since the flow goes against the screen. They also get clogged up in the breather tubes so that won't fix it either.

with lacquer thinner or gasoline. Then shake the car up and down by jumping on the bumper for a half hour. Then I'll hold a lighted match over the oil filler to see inside - just to make sure the sludge is dissolved?

Huh? How does that sound?

Honestly folks if you think that deferring service is worth taking your chances on a costly engine repair, you shouldn't be driving such a nice car. Give it to someone who is worthy and go buy yourself a 1965 Ford pick-up truck. Or try the handy hints at the top of my post.

i would backhand my service rep if he forgot to change my oil during scheduled maintenance. Do you ever change your own oil between services? I think maintenance only does it every 10k so i do it at 5.
