I appreciate the advice you guys have given!...New S4 owner..I used to have a 01 1.8T
the stereo has an input for sat?...car did not come with it(stock)....can I add it?...cost?...or do I just get an I-Pod?...

Its about $325 i think on clairparts.com for the reicever. Somtimes i seen them on ebay for $200.
But you have informiant package that came with the car, correct? Thats the package you need.
There was a production run of the 04s that the receiver was backordered so dealers had a -$500 delete of it on the sticker price. My guess is thats includes your car, as well as mine. =)

except in 2004 the front-drive non-Bose cars did not. They came with the Concert II headunit and no pre-wiring for Sat (no shark fin).
All other A4's and everything in 2005 has pre-wiring for sat radio. It doesn't matter if you have Bose (infotainment pkg or not). If you have shark fin you can just order the tuner and plug it in, in the trunk.
