A company had an ad for aftermarket tie-rod ends that are a beefier design than OEM. IIRC, the company was Blaufernugen and the TRE's are on sale this month. I have no idea if they're offering a quality piece of not, but from the drawing comparing the aftermarket piece to the OE piece, I might be inclined to give it a shot.

Just my $0.02 on TRE's.
