Just brought my 2001 A6 27t to McGrath for it's 15K maintenance. Greg, the Service manager, nicely informed me that there is no 15K service, and that the next one is at 20k.

Question: Greg informs me that I don't need an oil change or any other service until 20k. This doesn't sit right with me. Oil changes to my previous Audis were done every 3-5k. How often should I change the oil? Are there other services I should be doing to augment the ones that Audi will take care of?

I was told the exact same thing when I went for what I also thought was a necessary 20k oil change a month ago. I was told some of the newer Audis are all like that...had SAME doubts even afterwards...

I'm thinking they're just trying to jip us on services that they owe us at the expense of the cars' well-being.

you will have to pay for it though. I think twice a year with synthetic oil should be fine.
