Help..I just purchased a 1989 2oo quattro wagon in great shape but it doesn't seem to heat up as it should. It has climate control but the water and oil gauges stay near the left side of the gauge range..(65 degrees C). The defrost also seems anemic. Does anyone have any thoughts??? A new thermostat???if so what degree? Thanks in advance. Dave In Peoria

I was having a similar problem with my 1989 200 quattro wagon a few months back. The gauges would only indicate higher temperatures when I was stuck in stop and go traffic. I replaced the thermostat and all is normal now.
