Went kart racing (those little go-carts)last year at the MRP track on the Michigan/Indiana border - about 90 minutes from Chicago. There were about 15 of us and we all had a GREAT time. I've been wanting to do it again ever since. Cost was around $200/person if I remember right. Pretty much most of the day. The cars go VERY fast and it's BIG FUN!!! Lunch and drinks are included.

I'd like to set a date sometime between early Sept to early October. Anyone want to go? I've already got 5 of my friends committed. The more people, the less it costs.

MRP: Michiana Raceway Park

Every racer knows that there is no substitute for seat time. The key to unlimited seat time is full-time access to a privately-owned race circuit. By owning its own track, MRP/Speed has the ability to conduct constant testing, research and development - giving it a clear advantage over its competitors.

Michiana Raceway Park is a purpose-built 1/4-mile road course owned by MRP/Speed Chief Instructor Garry Lobaugh. It features five turns, including a 180-degree hairpin and a fast right-left-right sweeper. These turns, combined with the rolling terrain, make it challenging for all skill levels.

MRP/Speed is located just outside Niles, Michigan, 90 minutes east of Chicago and three hours from Detroit and Indianapolis. From I-94, exit on Hwy 12 and go east 17 miles. From Hwy 12, go north on Bakerstown Road two miles to the fork. Continue straight at the fork, until the road ends at Miller. Go left on Miller; the track is one mile up on the left.
