I just noticed this morning that my Bose stereo display is doing some weird stuff... there's about 5 random dots that seem to be permanently lit whenever the radio is on... also, it seems like a small portion of the left half of the display is gone... ie: when i have a cd on, instead of it reading: "CD1", it reads " D1"... anyone else ever experience this before? If so, did you wind up having to replace the display, or were you able to fix it? I did re-install my chip last night without disconnecting the power... wonder if that did it... I don't think I remember seeing the screwd up display last night... but then again, maybe I wasn't paying attention....

My concert radio did the same thing just this morning and it cured itself when I got to work. You can try what I did and see if it works.
I turned on the radio while the ignition key was in the OFF position and it was back to working normally again. I also restarted to car to double check it was OK and it seems to have cured itself.

This has happened to a number of people. It doesn't affect the operation of the unit and it usually goes away the next time you start the car. You can usually "fix" it by stopping the car and starting it again. However, that causes more damage to the engine (and thusly car) than leaving it be.

Leaving it like that for the rest of that trip won't harm it and is what most people do.

Like someone else said, you may want to try to get it replaced, but it's next to impossible to reproduce and generally not worth the effort since it happens so rarely.
