Ok, I'm a noob on this forum, but hopefully, you won't hold that against me. I DID search first and didn't find any threads that were pertinent, so forgive me if this issue has already been addressed. I just got my '03 A4 and both my FM and AM reception on the stock Symphony is REALLY bad. I previously owned a '04 A4 Avant with the "Shark Fin" antenna, which never had the reception issues I'm having now... same area, same travel radius, same stations. So, other than an after-market stereo, does anyone have any recommendations for a solution? I've already been to Quality Auto Sound here in the Denver area, and can get an in-line signal booster installed for about $60 bucks, but the sales guy was really just trying to sell me a new stereo. Anybody have any experience with either a signal booster or actually adding an external "shark fin" type antenna on an '03 with a rear window antenna? Any help or recommendations will be GREATLY appreciated!

Antennas are in the windows and there is a diversity switchbox above the rear window that might be broken.

Thanks for the info... didn't really know WHAT the fin was doing, but assumed it was an antenna for everything. It there a trick to drop the cover above the rear window to access the diversity switchbox?

Thanks Reggie, I appreciate the tip. In the graphic you posted, it that image in the headliner where the roof meets the rear glass or in the rear deck? It's hard to tell. In the B6 sedan, there's a narrow panel that runs the width of the rear glass. I'm guessing the amp is back there. Anybody have a trick or suggestion for getting it off without breaking the clips?
