I recently started a modest system, its mostly done, just need to button up the front stage. I have a full post on www.motorgeek.com.
Any feedback comments welcome, and hopefully the info helps anyone else out who's considering doing a similar build.
Enjoy,<ul><li><a href="http://www.motorgeek.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=226726#226726">Javad's B5 A4 System Build</a></li></ul>

...i'll check out your build..since i too will be building soon.
I don't think I would have the balls to take out the carbon canister. But I do like the install. The only thing I would do different is to put a protective grill over the sub since I tend to carry a lot of heavy crap in my trunk.
I've also been thinking of putting a 7" mid in the rear deck spot. Right now I have pair of 6.5" coaxials but they are crossed over such that they don't play above 6.3kHz. I have a set of 6.5" adapters for those square holes that I hope to modify to fit the 7" mids. I think the mids themselves are no problem it just that most 7" mids do not use the standard 4 hole mount you see on most car audio drivers so I need to find a way to bolt them down.

I will have a cover over the subwoofer, I will modify the factory carpet cover to cover the whole area, and I have some nice perforated steel sheet to go over the subwoofer to protect it, I'll post picures when its done.
The MDF adaptors I made for the rear deck were very simple, I had to seal about a 1/4" gap around the inside of it with some silicone, but no big deal, and actually an 8" will fit there no problem, what I'm considering for solid midbass as the 7" don't seem very happy in free-air.
I have the rear stage in bandpass config from about 100 to 500Hz, crossed over at 24db slopes.
Thanks for the feedback!

for each woofer. a full baffle that runs the whole length of the deck to completely isolate the trunk space from the cabin. that should improve the sound. i'd say do that first rather than buying those kickers you mentioned. nice creativity in the spare tire well.
