Alright i've got this 12" sony xplod subwoofer that i have had working for a while and it has stopped working recenetly. In the pic shown i have been moving the wires (-) there (in yellow and one ot the left) around slightly and carefully, getting the sub to start working again, but i can't find the right place anymore and its irritating me. Im not sure why the connection or whatnot isnt being made, because the wires are not cut or spliced or anything. Not sure if anyone here would have a solution, but i thought i would give it a try

It's probably a bad connection around the voicecoil somewhere. Could be partially burnt. That would explain the intermittent contact.

Some subs can be repaired but it costs almost as much as a new sub.

Some more expensive subs are built to be serviceable but those usually cost $500+ and a recone susally runs you about %30 of the price of the sub so in those cases it is worth it to fix it.
