I've gotten everything disconnected and unscrewed...

The only way I can see of getting it out is to use a screwdriver and dent the dash at the edge.

Anybody else have a more workable solution?

rear of the head unit. This is a picture of what mine looked like in my B7:

This is the middle connector on the rear of the head unit. The smaller wires paralleled up with the front speaker wires are the two wires for the center channel speaker.

The speaker isn't even working, except for a hiss it gives off... so out it goes.

clips look like, then keeping it as level as you can pull out the other side. It's scary your first time, but I'm sure you'll get through it. I had mine off once.

Good luck!

I looked in the ETKA and it shows clips at the end that is adjacement to the cabin.

The problem is that there is nowhere to grip when try to lift it up, other than exercising some thumb pressure in the spot where the photo sensor sits.

Doing that will get maybe an 1/8 of inch movement upwards, but you can clearly see the ends (closest to the cabin) still holding firmly in place.

I hate when a 5 minute job turns into a multi=day adventure!

out. Start at the left or right sides instead of the center. Pulling from the center loads the clips the wrong way. It sounds stupid, but it should work. I used little effort to remove mine.

Hope this works for you.

And if you do break something, we can all learn from you (bad) experience. Isn't this what being part of the community is about? :)))))
