I recently purchased an 07 A4 Avant. Tried this weekend to test drive the SD card reader. I loaded a couple songs to a 128mb SD card from Itunes. When I insert it into the car, it says it cannot recognise the files. Any thoughts? I'm betting this is something really stupid that I'm missing. Thanks! Dan

Your iTunes songs are probably protected AAC, something the RNS-E doesn't like at all.

Thank you. Any way around that? Can I convert to mp3? Sorry, I'm not the most tech savy. Real drag if I can't use any of the downloaded tunes from Itunes.

Try: www.dougscripts.com and find "convert and export" which will let you run a convert/export script to MP3's.. (read the read me -- VERY easy to use, not too techy)

Also, do a search for "finder cleaner", which is a small application which will remove all the unnecessary MacOS "hidden files" which will otherwise end up showing on your SD card.

The combination of these two things will put you in business.

NOTE: Convert and export will NOT export DRM protected songs you purchased from iTunes Music Store-- the only way to export these is to burn them onto an audio CD, then re-import them. It's a pain...
