A4 Invested

Hey, i need some/any help with this. My car - 98.5 A4 with the concert HU - non-bose. I bought the Motorola Professional Hands-free Car Kit T720/T730/T731 Car Kit - S9708 which is damn near the same kit as Boston Driver used in his install which i followed to the 't' here His Install, but i have the T730
The differences, his is an A6 with the symphony unit. Anyway, of course i can't get the mute to work with the Concert. I've tried hooking up the mute wire from the install kit to every 'mute' connection on the back of the Concert but still nothing. Couldn't get the call to come thru' the speakers either but the speaker with the kit works fine. I've searched and searched and it seems all you have to do is hook up the mute to the head unit (as it says in the manual as well) but nothing. I've tested the voltage of the mute wire (orange) when placing a call and it stays at ~ 5V the whole time, doesn't drop at all. It's a 5V even when the kit is not hooked up to the concert unit at all. May i need a relay or to hook the mute wire to ground somehow? any help would be appreciated!
TIA!
