View Full Version : hey YO!!!! motor trend says next A4 in mid 2001. that means about one calendar year away! A4 09-30-1999, 05:20 PM n StevenN 09-30-1999, 05:41 PM Decided not to buy a 2000. Why buy a car that looks almost exactly like my '96 A4? Sure, there have been improvements made, but my car looks and runs great, so I can wait another year. StevenN '96 2.8qm Emerald Green KCM 09-30-1999, 05:53 PM if you want aftermarket parts, you will have to wait for a while before it comes out. You also will be buying a first year car that will probably have a few recalls. Also, I suspect that the rear of the new A4 will be similiar to the A6 which looks butt ugly. Johannes Erdfelt 09-30-1999, 06:39 PM Steve S. 09-30-1999, 07:56 PM The 2000 cars are about to be released....so in one year...the 2001 cars would be released...if Audi was on schedule. But, we all know that schedules can change...and it may be a late release of the 2001 cars...maybe in 2001. Steve S. 97 2.8QM DL 09-30-1999, 08:12 PM "Audi A4: A redesigned A4 sedan arrives in mid-2000, followed six months later by a coupe. Wagon and cabriolet variations expected." Tom 09-30-1999, 08:39 PM I read somewhere that somebody talked to his Audi dealer in Italy about A4's redesign on 2001. The dealer told me the redesign will adjust if the current A4 continuous to remains popular, if not, they are going to replace it or vice versa. If European markets will have the redesigned A4 for 2001, we will definitely have to wait at least 1 year before the company sorts all the first-year problems out before reaching North America market. Personally, I don't believe the current A4's life cycle is exactly like a Japanese or American cars. Introduced in fall 95 as a 96 model, redesign at the end of 2000 as 2001 model. 2001-1996 = 5 years, pretty much the same as current Toyota redesign schedule but even the current Integra and last Sidekick didn't redesigned after 6 years and the next one after almost a decade. Will an European company do this? I don't think so. I have a 96, 97, 98, 99 and soon to have 2000 A4 brochure, I think A4 will be redesign after I received the last brochure in 2004.
