my car's am/fm radio reception gets major static when i have anything plugged in the lighter adapter such as a car cell phone charger. in am mode, i can barely even hear anything and when i unplug it, it gets much better. how can i fix this?

Look, it looks like U have a minor problem with the protection of outside interfereces...probably a condesator....go to a electrical repairman....U're not abble to do anything. (The issue of the AM, it's because it works with as Modulated Amplitude, instead of Modulated Frequency that is more sensitive.)

this happens with anything that i plug into it. sometimes when i brake the radio distorts a little but then goes back to normal.
