It has been about 6 months since my HU and system have been instaled. I instaled the amps and subs myslef beacuse i have a good enough understanding about that but i had best buy instal the HU. I am kicking myslef now because i see how easy it realy is to instal.

Ok the problem: When i turn the ingnition off and take the key out the HU loses all of its presets. (i.e. I need to manualy turn the subwoofer on everytime through the headunit and search for all the stations in tuner mode becasue they do not save.) However if i turn the car off and leave the key in all the settings stay. It didnt bother me for a while but lately it has become annoying.

Any ideas for what my problem could be.
Thanks

Yes? Your deck is bad.
No? Find a new constant.

your constant 12v is connected to your ignition.

everything works is because audi's still provide power until you remove the key. U are just missing the constant. Take it back to *shudder* best buy and tell them the problem. I'm sure it's under warranty. Next time when stuff like that happens. Take it right back my .02$

you either have a constant or you don't.

Audi wire them up arse about face, so the perm 12v is going to the ignition on and vice versa.
You just need to swap over the yellow and red wires going to the new HU power socket (the black ISO connector).
If this is plugged straight into the new HU then you'll need a male & female harness adapter to avoid cutting the Audi loom, but if you have flying leads between the Audi loom and the HU then you can just cut the wires and reconnect them the other way round. Sorted.

your constant wire must be connected to a constant source of power. the ignition must be connected to the remote. his constant wire is connected to his ignition, which means the unit will play when the car is on, but will lose all settings once the electronics go off.
