Ok, i searched and found a guy on this forum from a year ago who installed a sirus unit and found a sirus retail sales rep who sent him a convertor plug for the two cables from the sharkfin antenna to the 1 pin needed for the aftermarket units.......

Anyway.. I wouldn't mind getting that as I want to use that roof antenna in the worst way. ANyone else who can help, please let me know... I don't think this is talked about enough in here.

I have a 2001 A6 avant...and I'm planning on adding the OEM shark fin/submarine antenna to support OEM nav+, radio and an aftermarket sirius starbase unit.

Based on my research, the converters sold at crutchfield are for using a single input antenna lead (newer technology) to the older dual-input antenna outputs/inputs from the older aftermarket tuners....and not for plugging it into the OEM antenna.

Thoughts?

The opposite adapter is made... still waiting for a response on getting something the other way around.

If you read that article, it was a year old and I tried to email the guy and the email bounced back..... I wonder if an adapter would even work...

This will be the same for plugging in the audi antenna connector into the aftermarket splitter/adapter.

"Green" Audi lead to "curry yellow" on aftermarket XM or Sirius.
"Brown" Audi lead to "green" on XM or "white" on Sirius aftermarket.

This means on your Audi antenna leads, you have to:
-Remove your brown connector and discard.
-Remove your green connector and move to other antenna lead.
-Purchase a curry yellow FAKRA SMB connector and install onto the previously green connector lead.
-For XM, plug in green to green, curry to curry
-For Sirius, plug in green to white, curry to curry. The white terminal is made to accept all colors, so the green plug works fine.

know about this connector, does.....

like he's the only one who's gotten that to work.
