i'm fiddling around with UltraSport_Sal's kit and i am just not able to get it working. I have no music on the cartridge, could that be the problem?

I checked all the pin connections, they are sitting good in the headunit connector as well as the Satellite receiver (tried both sides crimp side up and down) nothing....does not switch to CDC

Anyone?

However, I don't think you'll need to download any music on the catridge to test the system because there is already some sample music on the catridge.

I initially also had this problem after my install. Is the sat working? If it is, I think you have the cables installed correctly and you may want to try the following.

Try to download the audi firmware again into the catridge. Before you reinsert the cartridge, reset the phatbox by unplugging the cable and then turn on the ignition for like a minute with the cable unplugged. Turn off the ignition again. Insert the cartridge then plug the cable back. This time just let the ignition on for at least several minutes for the firmware to be downloaded into the phatbox (there should be some lights on indicating activity). Then magically the phatbox was alive. Hopefully this will work for you.

Sometimes the phatbox will mess again and disappear again. This happen once since I had mine for the past month. It seemed to happened more in my BMW system. Simply do the above and you should get it back. I placed the plug between the cd changer cable and the phatbox easily accessible just for this purpose. Good luck.
