I would like to purchase a yellow a4 (used), but i'm confused about the color. I would only want to buy a car whose color is like the bottom 2 photos. The top photo is supposed to also be brilliant yellow, but looks completly different. Is this all lighting illusions, or are they different colors. If so, which color are the 2 bottom cars (the ones w/ the abt body kits)

I can tell you the the ABT AS4 (your bottom pic) is not Brilliant yellow. It's alot like the Imola Yellow that will come in the S4 (am I right?).
The Brilliant Yellow will not look anything like the Imola yellow under any light condition.
As for Chris' post of the A4 w/ the ABT body kit... I think the owner may have repainted it.
If you really want to know what the Brilliant Yellow looks like... look at the yellow New Beetles.

Good luck ... it's a really sharp car/colour!

My guess is that the bottom photos were taken by a professional and the top is an amateur photo? The lack of any body/glass reflections in the bottom two photos suggests the use of a lens polarizer (and probably a super-saturated slide film) which would also tend to deepen or 'pop' the colors. I have only seen a few yellow A4's, and I think the color is somewhat between the top and bottom photos. The top is a little too pale, and the bottom ones are a little too dark-yellowish (I remember there being a lime tint to the yellow color, unless it has been changed recently). I would not trust the colors in any of these pictures to be representative of the actual color.

Hope this helps...

Bottom color is the so called "IMOLA YELLOW", which you get in Europe for an additional amount of $1100.--

The top picture with the mountains in the background is my car with it's first set of wheels. It's Brilliant Yellow. The color seems to change slightly depending on the background, but the yellow seems to have more green in it than most yellows. The ABT cars you posted pictures of are more of a Porsche Speed Yellow. At the dealer we had my car between a Speed Yellow 911 Turbo, and a yellow New Beetle. None of the colors are the same.

IMHO Yellow is one of the best colors on the A4. You really need to see one in person.

Is that a MY2000, or are those custom wheels?

The one at the TOP is what I saw a S4 was at a recent motor show.
I was deeply dissappointed.
I think the yellow on the lower colour is great, but the Top one looks like a pale lemon.

It is almost impossible to get a good picture of a brilliant yellow A4 (like the top one of your photos), but believe me, they look very striking and elegant in reality. I get a huge number of positive comments on my brilliant yellow 99.5 A4 2.8.

In some lights, the brilliant yellow does seems to have a very slight green hint - and it is totally unlike the S4 Imola Yellow (which looks like an egg yolk, or custard).

See one to be certain - I think you'll be happy with the brilliant yellow.

If you look at the color of the foliage in the background, you can tell that the bottom pic has been oversaturated. The top one is clearly under. I have a pic of my yellow a4 in the registry and the color match is pretty good.
I really do like the Brilliant Yellow and would highly recommend it.

They said the 19" was $9000(!) for the set.
