View Full Version : Pssobile to swap worn '96 sport steering wheel with '99 or '00 model? jon 09-30-1999, 10:33 AM nt Edward A 09-30-1999, 10:47 AM At my friend's audio shop, and he has a way to make custom wood and carbon fiber pieces. He covers your actual dash or any part with wood or carbon fiber, and gives it an incredible shine. It looks TONS better than one of those stick-on kits. He does this a lot for Explorers, Expeditions, Suburbans, etc. The interesting part is that he took a steering wheel from a ford truck, cut out parts of the foam on the ring, and replaced it with fiberglass covered with wood. The end result came out exquisit, it looks very much like the steering wheel on Volvo's 850 R's. If you are interested on having yours done go to his site.

Audiocar

Geza 09-30-1999, 10:59 AM when your '96 came out, the sport wheel was swapable with the standard wheel. I'm sure the new wheel would swap, also. C. Redl 09-30-1999, 11:23 AM and bought the Momo hub adaptor to earlier A4's (the same part # that Cameron has). I have a 98 A4, and Audi changed the steering wheel shaft. For reference, the Momo hub adaptor for newer A4's is the 8014 (it also fits Golf and Jetta IV's and the Passat). The one that fits older A4's is the 8010. BTW, I posted this before, but I still have an 8010 adaptor just sitting here, free to anyone. You pay shipping. Curt |
