everything else except the headunit? my '03 allroad has the "premium" system in it. i want to yank out the bose speakers and amp and replace them with new components and new amps.

while talking to an install guy he told me i might have to wire the whole thing back through the bose amp in order to get it to work with the headunit.

this would obviously wreck the sound quality. is it true (please say no!)?????? thanks.

if you're replacing all your speakers, it might be easier to just get a new headunit with the amount of work that you're going to be doing.

Couldn't he just tap the line outs of the headunit? That would then totally bypass the amp.

I was at a shop this weekend that offered to use this to interface my factory head unit (Audi Bose) to aftermarket amps and speakers. This guy claimed it had an electronic crossover and an eq built in, but I think he might be mistaken. the one I found on Audio Control's site doesn't seem to include X-Over or EQ. It does look like a nice piece though and has speaker level inputs and up to 6 pre-amp outputs.

Just cut off the ends and splice or use the soundgate LOCB.2.

Replaced everything except the stock HU. Sounds great. Highly recommended.

Where do you get that? Do they make one that allows you to add subs but keep the other speakers? Also with that what happens to the cd changer/xm part of the plug?
