I have a brand new Kenwood HU that I hooked into my '96 A4 with the Delta (non-Bose) system. i used the VW adapter harness that I got from a GoodGuys install bay here. The stereo would play for a while and the crackle and get extremly hot until it would shut off. I assumed this was a defective HU but then I hooked it up to my '91 Acura Integra and Wholla! No heat issues...nothing...

I tried again only hooking up the two power wires to one 12v source from the battery, the ground and the two front speakers....same problem...

Did I do something wrong?
