I want more base from my A4 Bose. Any suggestions on adding subs/amps to existing Bose? I see preamps available but also been told not necessary

I added an Amp and Sub to my Bose system in my S4.

I figured out how to do it from searching the archives here. Search in the Audio Forum for bose, and bass, or subs.

Basically, what I did was pull a line level input from the wiring harness that goes into the Bose amp in the trunk. I soldered on RCA's, and ran that into my amp. Bingo. Run some power, and you're good to go.

Good luck, and if you have any specific questions, please feel free to ask us!

A JL 500/1 Amp.

Lightning Audi 1/2 Farad Cap.

And JL 12w3 Sub in a small sealed box.

I'm going to make a new box for it... one of these days... :)

the cap is a waste of money on that amp but everything else is nice! JL amps(I have 500/5 and 500/1) can run the same RMS output from 10 to 14 volts thus not needing a cap.

True, I don't really need the Cap, but it doesn't hurt either!

It just so happened I had the cap, had the space to put it in, so why not. It's not a bad thing! :)

I also probably don't need to run 4 ga either, but I did. I just like to get the most from what I've got!
