With a bit of guidance from Jeff Bipes as well as a few tech articles, I modified a 12V to 3V converter I picked up at Radio shack (preserving my factory cord) and using the fuse tap method, hard wired my Escort Solo.

I also followed Peter's tech article (http://www.audiworld.com/tech/ext11.shtml) to modify the fog light control relay. My fog lights now operate independent of the parking lights and low/high beams.

I learned two things while doing these modifications. First, it was a hell of lot easier than I thought it would be. Second, my soldering skills suck. It's a good thing I had lots of electrical tape to cover up my soldering, because it was FUGLY.
Anyway, if y'all are out there, thank you.
Now I can start working on the carputer.....
