I am looking to find if available any details regarding how many A4s were built per year, how many of each color, how many quattro etc. It would be cool to know you own 1 of lets say 2000 cars. Is there a way that through the VIN maybe such data is made available? I know VW has something similar....

Good luck. I called AoA for these exact same statistics and they basically said that they did not keep numbers like this. Oh well. If you find a place that does please let me know.

If AoA does not want people know these numbers, why not tell them directly?

He can want to know statistics without regard to whether or not AoA "wants people to know."
