otherwise, you'll be paying some big $$$ for an amp with decent power ratings @ 4 ohms.

if you bridge a 75W/ch amp, you get 300W mono. is that enough power for you? maybe....but probably not. and there aren't very many amps that put out more than 75w/ch that isn't gonna run you $$$$$$$$$$$$.

the jbl 600, which does 300watts at 4ohms. what do you think is the best way to go. looking for some brands/models to check out.

i don't think i could stand any less. I'm not a ghetto bass monger, i like my bass musical. 500W gives it the kick and speed and volume i like.

Eclipse Alums are power hungry and will take 600 watts easily. I used to have a pair and they were mighty fine. :-D If you want to go with less power that is fine too. They work well with both, but shine with more. Also, the JL 500/1 would be a great amp to match that sub.

It totally depends on the amp. There are a lot of 2 channel amps that will make 300+ watts bridged. Sure you have different wiring options between dual and svc, but it is just fine either way. Why would you say he should of got the dvc? It would only give him a couple more choices.

i don't know that much about car audio. if im spending 300 on an amp i want it to perform well. Is this a quality amp? Also will this amp be a good combo with a stock a4 system. im just adding some bass for now, untill i do the rest up.

The JBL's are probably the BEST amps for the money. It doesn't have a subsonic filter and it has adjustments that are difficult to use, but all in all, definately worth it. But to be honest, this amp/sub combo will be overpowering compared to a stock A4 system.
