It's been awhile since I've posted about my stereo, but I thought I'd share some of it's progress.. Here's a teaser pic:

Marc Richmond, he works for Diamond audio as a regional rep. Used to do all kinds of professional installs, now he just loves doing stuff in his garage. So it was done by a professional if that is what you're asking, but not at a store. =)

I should have trunk pics in a couple of weeks.

So they are HEX series. I highly recommend diamond's stuff. I've been VERY impressed by the sound quality. Previously I've always been into MB quart or focal stuff. Now that I've got a chance to really demo the diamond stuff I would highly recommend it to anyone looking in that quality range.

However, it's a nice place to own a car. No salt, no weather, three racetracks in the area, lots of tuners, just make sure you have covered parking in the summer.. =)

i'm using the 3-way tweeter, 4.5, 6.5" silk setup in the front, no rears. The 6.5" drivers are in custom sealed floor pods. These drivers are so great that the other week my sub blew and i barely noticed it! The only other drivers i may be interested in trying out are either the Dynaudio's or the Focal Utopia's, but the odd sizes make me kinda wary. well, we'll see. Sweet looking setup, btw.

There are plenty of good choices among the higher-end lines these days. I'm pretty happy that I don't have to spend my weekends researching and listening to all of them!

I hope to see him in Memphis for IASCA finals this weekend. He is in my opinion one of the top three installers anywhere. He also has an awesome ear for sound. Enjoy your car!
