I just signed my lease on a 1999.5 A4 1.8 Avant with tiptronic. The lease allows me 18,000 miles per year over 39 months. Due to the amount of time I spend in my car and the fact that I will be driving the car for over 3 years, I really want to modify the engine. I am not looking to do anything crazy, just a APR or TAP chip and a new air filter(increase HP to approx 195). I talked to the general manager at the dealer (Hoffman Audi, CT) and he said he would "take care of me" and stated that it was not a big deal. I am interested hearing others opinions/stories regarding the modification of a leased car. Thanks for the help.
