I just ordered a V1 + concealed display this morning. Expensive birthday present... Does anyone else out there also have the concealed display? Where did you put it? I was wondering if it fits inside of the pop out ashtray if you remove the insert. It measures 1x2.5x1.2 inches.
David

I velcroed mine to the top of the steering column, where it is easy to see but partially blocks the outside temp display. I look at mine fairly often, so like to have it close to my field of view.
- DaveD

I just use the normal V1 display and "hardwire" it to my fuse box. The display is high up (upper left hand corner of windshield), but easy to detach (just unplug RJ11 and put under seat or in trunk). The concealed kit seemed like a good idea until I realized that I'd need to have the V1 mounted somewhere to look forward and back anyway...
-josh
98.5 2.8qms

For routine driving, I have mine on the dash covered with a small dark gray towel. It blends in pretty well with the dash. People can see something's there, but it isn't obvious what it is. I put it in the corner of the dash close to the driver side A-pillar. I've had good luck with it there, and the back antenna seems to work Ok. I don't normally see any laser in my routine driving. I assume the towel hurts laser detection, although with my old detector was able to detect laser thru a towel. For hi risk driving, I have a second power cord run up to the passenger side visor, and mount it there using the visor clip. With the remote display attached, the main unit display is off. This makes it a bit less noticeable, especially at nite.
Dave
98.5 2.8qms
