I also have a JBL BP 1200.1
I have a ford explorer EB edition w/ stock alternator.
I have (2) 1Farad caps on the amp. My lights still dim at night AND my battery needle jumps a little bit at deep notes when the lights are off. I wanted to know if just one good OPTIMA (or simliar deep-cycle) battery would cure problem. OR a new alternator AND new dep-cycle battery would do the trick. Any advice is good, but professional or experienced advice is preferred. Thanks.

Very unnecessary......one to two farads MAX.

They don't have the ultra-fast transient draw capability that the smaller ones do. Might want to check into that before you buy.

You can get high current alts (stinger, etc) that'll put out over 200 amps, which will more than take care of that one JBL. Be warned though, they're expensive.
