Hey fellas,

I just want a basic solution to cover my low end frequency range. My budget is tight so I did some research on Ebay and i've come across this combination: (also its seems that almost all of the specifications match up pretty well with more well known brands... what gives?)

the 1200w 4 channel one from ebay. probably over rated on the power, but i'm no audio fanatic and i only payed 100, so it does the job for me. I am running a decent sub (Image Dynamic ID12) so i don't know how the combonation of cheap sub and amp will sound.

Trust me, you really do get what you pay for when it comes to car audio products. A buddy of mine had a Pyramid amp for a few years, and although it made his subs move, it was complete crap. Totally distorted sound at anything approaching a desirable sound level.

If you don't want to believe me, buy it and learn the hard way, but you asked for opinions...

sometimes the rating will say 1000W x 2 @ "whatever" (i.e. 2KHz) w/ 0.09%THD (or something like that). Usually, the cheap amps will make the specified power only at that particular frequency, but the good amps will be rated whatever wattage from 20-20KHz (the full audible frequency range) at a respectable distortion lever (i.e. 0.05% THD). Be wary...88 80's right- for the most part, you get what you pay for...
