I'm considering ordering an A4 for April 2000 delivery. Haven't decided between 1.8T and 2.8, I'll drive them both and decide. It will definitely be a 5-speed with quattro, though.

I live in western PA... don't know if any of you are from my area, but what kind of price should I go for, and how long until it is delivered? My current car will be paid off in March, that is why I am shooting for April. I know cars like the S4 are probably going for MSRP or very close to it, but what about a 1.8T or 2.8? $1,500 over invoice? $2,000 over invoice? I know I should be able to get it under MSRP, but when ordering, they don't have quite the urgency to sell as when a car is sitting on their lot.

Any emails or posts with advice greatly appreciated!

Generally, you should be able to purchase an A4 from around 4% - 7% over invoice. Whether you take a car "off the lot" may/may not get you a better deal. I would start with 5%. If you can find a car (to your liking) the wait might be less than a week. If a car has to be ordered from scratch, figure on 3-4 months, atleast. You will probably be asked to leave a refundable deposit of $250 - $500. Hope this helps.
