to turn a 2.8 engine to a 2.7t? The only things different between the engines besides the turbo aspect of the 2.7t is that the the bore is smaller which means thicker sidewalls which results in the 2.7 liters instead of the 2.8. And the compression ratios have also been dropped to accomodate the the twin turbos. How hard would it be to do this? would the block have to be recast, which would mean i mights as well buy a 2.7t engine. And if this was possible, couldn't the ECU be swapped with an s4 engine? i know all the crap you need to go with a turbo, but would it be able to modify the 2.8 to beable to accomodate the 2.7t? thanks for any feedback. it would probably be cheaper to go with the PES system but if you could convert to a 2.7t, then from there i would assume you could just treat it like an s4 and boost the hp from there with more aggresive ECU's and K04's. thanks in advance again.

I would assume it would be easier to buy a 2.7T engine (there must be some way of buying one - even from a wrecked S4 - though you might have to wait a while), then replace the engine in your car. Bear in mind the transmission is different (if you have manual).
Cameron replaced the auto transmission in his A4 to a stick shift and said it was a very difficult and expensive job. I would expect the engine change to be more complicated.

is to go down to the dealer and trade yours in on an S4. Someone is going to have to spend a lot of time matching things up, and it is that labor that is going to burn the money.
