anyone have any suggestions, preferences? Or should I buy everything seperately?

The fuse holder was not too firmly attached to the cable. I'm not going to go into it because it only gets me mad, but in my opinion, the female part of the fuse holder should have been connected to the 1ft cable run instead of the male one being connected... that way when you change a fuse, you don't have to worry about letting go of the cable and letting the bare metal fuse holder touch the chassis of your car and blowing up your battery.... idiots. Also, the cable came out of the fuse holder altogether and almost caused the above condition. It's recklessly assembled, in my opinion, and they're lucky nobody's sued them yet.

and those kits are predetermined lengths and you don't want to be binded to running wire so those lengths fit.
