I have installed an MTX amp with a Boston Acoutsics sub an a pre-fab Boston enclosure. I tapped the remote signal off the rear amps and used a small high/low adapter. I have had alternator whines before and thats not quite what I have but there is a noise that I can't quite figure out. With the car on there is a low humm from the sub set-up. With rpm's there is no increase in noise level so its not and engine induced noise. Is it likely the high/low adapter? Or is it the amp turn-on from the stock rear amp?

TIA for your help.

I use a star grounding configuration....ALL power & front end grounds to a common point on the chassis.

You could also try a ground loop isolator (available from Radio Shack) on the signal lines that go to the sub amp.

The cheap plastic ones are garbage. THe AudioLink is what I would recomend.
