and while I haven't cut a peice that perfectly fits yet, I think it's gonna work. I was really getting annoyed at the brightness of my eclipse at night, especially compared to the red dash, so this was the only fix I, and others, could think of. While the transparency will stay there on it's own by static, I don't think it's in any way permanent. At the same time, I don't want to go glueing up the front of my deck, which is covered by such a wonderful warranty. I think I'll talk to the installer about this one. Overall though, the lighting looks good, it almost matches perfectly with the climate controls. I think it also cured the brightness, but I have yet to drive with it like this at all. I'll try to get some pics at some point.

I am glad my idea worked for you. I went a little different route for integrating with the dash, but still need the red gel.
Thanx

and they gave me a sheet of red filter. They only had one shade, so it was the best I could do. I went for a drive a little while ago, and my feelings are mixed. The red doesn't really come out true enough. It's great for diminishing the brightness of the eclipse, but the color is slightly pinkish, like light red or so. I don't know what would be the outcome with your display, because it has a much different backlight then the eclipse. The sheet is about 2 square feet, so I have plenty, so if you really can't find any where you live I can mail you some. And yes, thanks for the idea!

is making the color more pinkish. Is there a shade of red I should get that would counteract this?
