I've had my 1996 A6 Quattro for about two and a half years now. I love the car, but one thing really annoys me. Its AM reception is HORRIBLE! I have a hard time picking up stations in the same town. My wife's Ford Expedition, OTOH, can pick up Boston AM stations from Concord, NH (a pretty long way). Does anyone know of a way to increase the radio's reception? Oh, I have the Bose system. Thanks!

it depends on the source of the problem. sometimes the alternator of the car causes a lot of interference, and sometimes the antenna is just too weak.
in my old honda, i replaced the factory antenna (when the car was 10), but in an Audi, that means replacing the front & rear windows.

Old '90 Coupe Quattro and present '98 A4 Avant both have roof antenna. Have what I feel is good reception in hilly Pittsburgh.
On the Coupe, antenna died one time. Then, AM was nonexistent and FM was very poor. Might try a new antenna. Also, might check the power supply to the antenna; it has a little mini-amplifier in it, up around where the antenna goes thru the roof. Check the fuse panel, then the power right at the antenna power connection.
Antenna is made by a company called Fuba, so might try doing a web search for replacement.
