Since yesterday, for no aparent reason, my 99.5 1.8T seat (regular seat) started to squeek. It happens mainly when i move (press/depress the clutch) or just move in the seat. sounds like an old matress and is pretty annoying.
Does anyone have a clue as to where it comes from and what to do against it?
Anyone with similar experiences out there? What to do?
Thanks,
Patrik
Ive noticed that i need to push the seat belt forward into the seat cushon to stop the passenger seat from making the noise, might be the same problem on drivers side??

I have the same problem with my 99.5. I know that mine isn't the seat rubbing against the console. I'm lite (135 lbs) and it still does it over bumps and whatnot, when I have a heavier person in the car it is much more pronounced.. Currently the car is in for it's 5K service and they are allegedly working on fixing the seats. If they do, I'll let you know what their fix was.

"Listen buddy, I drive an 88 Subaru, deal with it." Last time he said they "lubed" the driver's seat. Yeah right. It really does sound like an old mattress though, doesn't it - and in a car that's less than six months old!!!!! Amazing that even with the squeaking concerto (control arms and driver's seat) I would still never consider driving anything else but an S4.

My seat did _exactly_ the same thing. You need to lubricate the rails upon which the seat travels forwards and backwards with silicone spray. Use plenty of spray. The creaking sound occurs when you shift your weight in the seat while clutching. When this occurs, the seat wobbles on the rails causing the sound.
This should work.
